It's been a busy winter of pool training and circuit training with the occasional ski paddle thrown in for good measure. The surf as been great so lots of members have been keeping their fitness up with their surfing too. As I write this, the nippers are preparing for their winter Stillwater competitions, with teams competing in both the Cornish Frostbite championships and the National Stillwater championships at Millfield.
The AGM was held on Friday 3rd Feb with lots of good ideas for 2017 put forward and lots of enthusiastic new volunteers taking on more club roles. It looks like an exciting year ahead. We say thank you to John Bampfield who, as one of the club founders has been a trustee of the club for over 30 years and now steps down to enjoy the most of his lifetime membership. He assures us he will still be expecting the best waves and as involved as always in the clubs social events. We all know his blood runs turquoise and orange! As does that of Guy Blackford who after 20 years as secretary, passes the pen to Eugenie Walker. We thank Guy for all his work behind the scenes as secretary and look forward to allowing him to concentrate more on enjoying the competing, coaching and fun aspects of the club.
Dates for summer training were set as follows:
